10 Bath Precautions in the Winter Season
- Bath Water temperature during winter season can be lukewarm as it's ideally suited for everyone.
- DO NOT go for a bath directly after getting up from sleep. Rub your belly and palms strongly for 3 minutes after getting up from sleep. Drink 2 glasses of warm water after you get up.
- DRY FRICTION RUB - Rub your whole body with dry hands or a dry towel to warm the body and activate the blood circulation before you begin your bath.
- SPONGING the body with warm water before having a bath is considered very safe for people having blood pressure, cardiac issues, asthma, diabetes, paralysis and history of anxiety and depression
- DO NOT take a shower directly on the head or chest in a cold winter morning. This may result in heavy breathing and cause sudden fainting and collapse. Sponge the body first with a wet Turkish napkin. Then start to have a bath from the feet upwards towards the head.
- COLD WATER BATH can be used after warming up the body by a dry friction rub or belly rubbing for 3 minutes. Cold water bath in winter strengthens the nervous system. Cold water bath can be used thrice a week.
- NEVER have a bath immediately after a meal or even breakfast in the winter season. It may cause heaviness in breathing, chest pain, fainting or stroke. it may also aggravate cardiac or respiratory disorders.
- AVOID GAS WATER HEATERS - Be careful of having a bath with water heated by gas water heaters, make sure the bathroom is properly ventilated, make sure that the gas heater is kept outside the bathroom, gas heaters consume the oxygen inside the bathroom leading to suffocation and breathlessness and even fainting.
- Hot water bath may cause skin dryness and it weakens the nervous system in the longer run. It benefits in improving flexibility and eases joint pain if taken one or twice a week.
- Drinking 50 ml of lukewarm water or hot water, every 30 minutes for the whole day is advisable in the winter season. it keeps your body warm, improves joints flexibility and internal lubrication during the winter season.
